Dirt; Poop; Salt; Spice; Gold Here we are learning how to handle the shit; the bug shit, the rat shit, the bird shit, the dog shit, the cat shit and skillfully handled by Public Works and a sewer lines, human shit.  I ask all guest to wear shoes in the backyard and to only harvest and eat fruit from the plant.  Having said this, I have managed to create fairly balanced mulch piles for animal shit that eventually is used on shrubbery. So canine feces which MAY contain microbes detrimental to human is picked up and covered as quickly as possible.  However, chicken shit which apparently is benign to mammals is kinda all over the yard these days because of our beloved new to the world chickens!  In general, WASH well anything harvested directly from the soil. MAY 2025 Spring 2025 Beautiful Iris Blackberries Budding Nursing Along Baby Trees.. Though this is crazy I rescued a root bound Sequoia and planted this tree last year.  I've just been waiting and so glad to see some new happy growth.  Every time I waked by Sequoia I have to say hello to Wasp.  This types of wasp is very gentle and timid though I'm sure they pack a punch if sat on or something.   Both of "Ian's Trees" are slowly taking to their new locations here..  I call Willow "wiggly Willow" and the little short pine (about 3ft now) Jr. Very nice to see some Douglas Fir babies below holding on with some new growth!! APRIL 2024 Rodent Prevention; Irrigation Checks; Pathways and Concerns Ok!  RESIDENTS!!! Perimeter checks, vents and weeding needs to take place this month.  I will be scheduling times I can check and weed around the perimeter of the houses.  Please be sure not to lean things up against the house for easy "hidden rodent corrid...
